Seed Saving Workshop

Saturday, September 16 at 2pm

Best for ages 10 and up.  Adults and families welcome, children may attend with an adult.

Interested in learning about how to save seeds for next season or how to participate in a Seed Lending Library?  Local expert, Anna Stange, will demonstrate how to save seeds in this hands on workshop, as well as give participants an opportunity to thresh, winnow, and package seeds.  Try your hand at both wet and dry seed saving techniques.

Anna will talk about both easy and more challenging seed saving, and the difference between open-pollinated, heirloom, hybrid, and GMO seeds.  Seeds will be available for participants to take home.

The first 12 families or individuals will be able to build and take home their very own seed saving screen.  No registration is necessary.  Patrons with a valid AMP library card will be given preference 30 minutes before the program begins.  All others may attend as space permits.  Please check-in at the Youth Services desk on the lower level.
