Check Account and Renew Books
You will need your library card barcode and PIN number, and then access your account through your computer on the updated SWAN website, or on your phone or tablet with the SWAN Libraries Mobile App.
Checkout periods have returned to our traditional, pre-Covid intervals. Call for details: 708.371.5666 x100.
You may be able to renew items for an additional period if no other patrons have requested them -- and there is an automatic renewal option that you can select, for your account.

Locating Materials to Request
Search our new Aspen SWAN catalog to see if the item is at the library or in our library system. (Guide to using the Aspen catalog.)
You can also install and check the SWAN Libraries app on your phone or tablet. (App available from your app store; simply follow instructions from that link.)
- If the availability of the item shows ON SHELF at the Alsip-Merrionette Park Library, you can call Adult Services (708.926.7024) or Youth Services (708.371.5666 x 140) and ask for the item to be held for you at the Patron Services Desk. Items are held for seven days. (Use this method if you need materials immediately.)
- If you forget your PIN or encounter any other problems, contact the library for assistance.
If you don't find what you are looking for, please contact the Adult or Youth Services Department (see phone numbers above). Librarians may be able to purchase the item, or acquire the item for you through Interlibrary Loan if you have an Alsip-Merrionette Park Library card.
