High School Volunteer Group
First Thursdays at 6 pm: December 7, February 1, and March 7
MLK Day of Service: Monday, January 15
Do you need service hours for graduation, communion, or Scouting? The library has a volunteer group for teens grades 9 and beyond! Monthly meetings in the Teen Zone count for 1 hour of dedicated service time; extra hours are scheduled as needed.
Teen Job Skills Workshop
Second Thursdays at 6pm
Are you looking for a summer job to earn some cash? In partnership with the Alsip Park District, the library is hosting a three-part workshop series on everything jobs just for teens! Learn tips and tricks on searching for jobs, best interview practices, and more; we’ll end with a mini job fair with the Alsip Park District for potential placements for summer jobs.

Take-N-Make Paint by Number Kit
Pickups begin Monday, January 8
Travel to a sensational seascape in this month’s painting. Want to add some extra pizazz? Add some flaky sea salt to the painting while it’s still wet, then shake it off when dry! Limit 18.
Mug Cakes

Warm your heart with a mug cake! A basic recipe and an array of ingredients will be available for you to build your perfect personalized dessert. BYOM – bring your own (microwave safe) mug! Please alert the Info Desk of any food allergies upon signup. Limit 12.
Save the Dates for Our Spring Craft Swap!
Collection Period: March 13–29
Swap: Thursday, April 4
Drop off gently used craft supplies during the collection period. Our middle school and high school volunteers will organize and sort them. Attend the swap to take home what you’ll use! All leftover supplies will be donated.
